Description: Sambar is a South Indian side dish usually served with Indian Breakfast like Idli, Dosa, Vada, Upma, Pongal. It tastes great with hot steamed rice too. Freshly ground masala called as Sambar Podi gives an exuberant flavor to the Sambar. Using this recipe as a base one can make many variations changing the lentil and or veggies used.
